Solid Waste and Recycling Rates Workshops St. Johns County is hosting a series of public workshops to provide information regarding proposed recycling and solid waste rate increases. The meetings will allow residents to ask questions and receive material regarding the proposed new rates. Those wishing to participate are invited to attend any of the public workshops. North Florida TPO Telephone Town Hall Meeting Talk to the North Florida Transportation Planning Organization (TPO) about transportation projects and programs needed to meet the needs of the community today and into the future. The North Florida TPO is updating the regional long-range transportation plan and needs to hear from you! The long-range transportation plan is a blueprint for the future of the Northeast Florida's transportation system and will seek to address travel needs for the next 20 years as the region grows in population, infrastructure and employment. Give us your input on what the future of transportation and mobility should look like on the First Coast during our Telephone Town Halls from 6:30 to 7:30 on June 12 and 13. District 4 Commissioner Office Hours at Ponte Vedra Beach Library District 4 Commissioner Jeremiah Ray Blocker will host open office hours from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, June 21 at the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library. Community members are invited to schedule an appointment to meet with Commissioner Blocker and discuss any questions, needs, or concerns. Walk-ins are also welcome. Sunshine Bus Company Proposed Fare Increase Meetings – The Sunshine Bus Company is proposing an increase for base fare and daily bus passes to go into effect August 1, 2019. The proposed increase will be considered at two public meetings on June 13 and June 18. Homes with odd numbers or no address may irrigate on Wednesdays and Saturdays, homes with even numbers on Thursdays and Sundays, and nonresidential properties on Tuesdays and Fridays. St. Johns County Library Summer Reading Program – The Public Library System is encouraging youth and adults to participate in the annual free summer reading program which offers a reading log, fun rewards, educational classes, and exciting events focusing on this year's "The Best Summer" theme. Participants are invited to pick up their free reading logs from any library branch and take part in the many programs designed for the whole family. Art in Public Spaces Features Local Artist Manila Clough – St. Johns County’s Art in Public Spaces program hosts “Florida Native Birds and Plants x Four” by Manila Clough, June 4 through September 19 at the County Administration Building. Hosted in partnership with the St. Johns County Cultural Council, the exhibit will feature Clough’s four mosaics, as well as art from St. Johns County students. South Ponte Vedra Boulevard Dune Restoration Project & Coastal Highway Beach Restoration Project – Beach Restoration Projects Updates and Current Status

Bartram Trail Branch Library Closure – The branch will be closed through September for fire suppression replacement. Patrons can request, check out, and drop off items at a temporary library at Mills Field, 1721 Race Track Rd. www.sjcpls.org/closure.

FDOT State Road 16 Lighting Project – Florida Department of Transportation roadway and pedestrian lightning project along SR 16 from CR 16A to San Marco Avenue. Construction will include installation of overhead street lights and replacement of I-95 interchange and San Sebastian Bridge lights. The project will cause intermittent overnight lane closures and is scheduled to be completed in spring 2021. For more information, please contact FDOT at 904.831.3368.

St. Johns River-to-Sea Loop Update – Progress on the regional trail continues with the opening of the Cora C. Harrison Trailhead connecting 14 miles of paved, shared-use path..
